Wirral Hoarding Improvement Project – Workshops

W.H.I.P Wirral Hoarding Improvement Project

As part of the ‘Wirral Hoarding Improvement Project’ (W.H.I.P.), Wirral SAPB have commissioned a series of three x 3-hour training workshops to be delivered by Ian Porter (Project Lead).

The training will go beyond mere ‘awareness-raising’ and focus on increasing participants’    hoarding literacy in relation to personalised assessment/formulation, practice-based issues and skills enhancement.

To achieve these aims, Ian will structure the core components of the workshop around a model he has developed called: ‘Inside Out’.

This is a four-stage structured approach which effectively takes participants through the aetiology of the ‘disorder’ (causation/impact etc) plus initial referral/assessment, through a two-stage approach to the development of a personalised model of hoarding and finishes by addressing issues relating to maintenance and sustainability.

The session will be interactive, involve some (non-taxing) pre-workshop prep and include several interactive components which will focus on ‘live case’ examples.

Workshop dates and venues:

Workshop 1: Thursday 12th October 10-1pm—The Grange, Grove Rd Wallasey

Workshop 2: Tuesday 14th November 10-1pm— possible Hoylake / West Kirby venue tbc

Workshop 3: Thursday 7th December 10-1pm—The Lauries Centre, Claughton Rd, Birkenhead
